A Draft Is Moving Air, Not Automatically Missing Insulation
Insulation slows heat flow; accessible air sealing reduces air movement through openings in the building boundary. A cold surface can also feel drafty even when air is not moving, so the room, weather, and timing should be documented first.
We inspect accessible attic and crawl-space boundaries for gaps, displaced insulation, and open chases. A written scope should identify which pathways can be reached and which symptoms may come from another system.
Match the Repair to the Location
Attic-floor bypasses may support an attic air-sealing scope before insulation is restored. Missing or damaged sub-floor material may call for crawl-space insulation work. Window, exterior-door, fireplace, or wall-cavity repairs are separate scopes and should not be hidden inside a general insulation quote.
Know When Another Specialist Is Needed
HVAC balancing, combustion safety, duct repair, window and door replacement, electrical defects, roof leaks, plumbing leaks, structural openings, and pest entry points require the appropriate qualified trade. Universal Insulation Doctor limits its work to accessible insulation and approved air-sealing locations; pest trapping and exclusion remain with the pest company, and duct conditions receive a separate duct scope.
